Water System Improvements: Engineering design consisted of removal of two (2) existing water storage tanks, erection of new 150,000 gallon water storage tank, removal and replacement of all water meters, removal of unconventional meter pit assemblies, installation of standard plastic pit assemblies with cast iron lids and implementation of new billing and meter reading software. Construction administration included coordination with the general contractor, correspondence concerning field verified items that did not match plans, approval or denial of change orders, site visits and validation of pay requests in terms of work completed and materials stored. Anselmo Engineering, Inc. collaborated with Atencio Engineering, Inc. on this project and CTL | Thompson provided a soils report and a foundation recommendation. CDOT Road and Bridges Construction Standard Specifications and AWWA Standards were utilized in this project.
Wastewater System Improvements: Engineering design includes replacement of ABS pipe sections, service tap root remediation and redesign lagoons from an evaporative system to a discharging system and constructing an additional pond to make a 3-pond lagoon system. CTL | Thompson provided the soils investigation. The design is currently in review and awaiting comments from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Anticipate bid and construction to occur spring and summer of 2009, pending all necessary coordination with CDPHE.
Engineering Analysis Reports: Developed a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for storm water improvements throughout the town. We recommend installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, cleaning and/or replacing existing culverts and regrading existing road ways to improve storm water flow.
