Streetscape and Utility Improvements: The engineering scope of this project includes the design of drainage upgrades, water main replacement, water service replacements, replacement of overhead electric to underground, roto-mill and asphalt overlay for approximately 2200 linear feet of roadways, removal and replacement of sidewalks, curbs & gutters, recreational area development and streetscaping. Recreational area consists of a multiple use basketball court, tennis court, pee-wee football/soccer play area, pavilion and general play equipment. Streetscaping includes hanging baskets, pedestrian lights, benches, trash receptacles and other site amenities. Construction administration includes coordination with the general contractor, correspondence concerning field verified items that do not match plans, approval or denial of change orders, site visits and validation of pay requests in terms of work completed and materials stored. CTL | Thompson is providing the geotechnical support on this project. CDOT Road and Bridges Construction Standard Specifications, M Standards and AWWA Standards were referenced in this project.
Utility Boring and Jacking: Water system improvement project consisted of the installation of 5 new water mains traversing State highway 50 and capping and abandoning the existing mains. High density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) was utilized for the casing as well as carrier pipe. Construction administration included coordination with the general contractor, correspondence concerning field verified items that did not match plans, approval or denial of change orders and site visits. The contractor was required to meet Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD) requirements as well as compliance with insurance requirements for CDOT Utility and Special Use Permits by utilizing S Standards for traffic signage. AWWA Standards were referenced in this project.
Water System Improvements: Evaluation of water system to map damaged meters and leaking water mains following the 2007 tornado and recommendations to replace meters and replace or repair mains. Atencio Engineering, Inc. and Anselmo Engineering, Inc. combined efforts to accomplish this project. AWWA Standards were referenced in this project.
Engineering Analysis Reports: Funding assistance tools, Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER’s), were developed for a water system improvement project including replacement of existing lead service lines and water mains, an additional elevated 450,000 gallon water storage tank and revitalization of an urban park.
